LES REPERES BLUES et JAZZY sur E9 et C6
BLUES POINTS AND JAZZ for E9 and C6 necks
GAMME BLUES (pentatonique mineure blues) :
DO MIb FA FA# SOL SIb DO
C Eb F F# G Bb C
BLUES SCALE (Minor pentatonic scale for Blues )
C Eb F F# G Bb C
CI DESSOUS : points BLUES BELOW : BLUES points
Dm G7 C
--------------------------------------------------------------------
These blue reference spots in the blues key of C
are also applicable in Jazz, in the key of E flat
major for most of them.
In the BLUES STYLE, that is a 12-bar blues,
using the chords of C7, F7 and G7, these
reference spots are applicable notes to choose
from, and it is up to each player to find the
“ right ” feeling or the feeling which suits the
player.
The lines you see around some area parts is only my personal way. choose
your own way between that points and
Keep only some which sounds good to your own ear.
-------------------------------------------------
In a STANDARD JAZZ STYLES, these spot
references can be used as applicable notes to
choose from, except that they are located 1 and
a half tones (three half-tones) below the major
key of the theme, which in this case is in the key
of E flat (Eb).
WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THIS?
Take for example a Blues in the key of A.
The Blues scale is in actual fact (almost) an
arpeggio of A minor, which is the relative (sixth)
chord in the C scale;
the A note is three half-tones below the C note.
Consequently if you have a chord sequence of
Dm / G7 / and C ,
2nd, 5th and 1st degrees* in the key of C , use
the A blues scale;
in other words take play the notes you feel
suitable from the the A blues scale.
* “Scale Degrees”
A note's degree is simply its numerical order position in
any given scale
